Practice makes……………..”Perfect?”
We’ve all heard this so many times: “Practice makes perfect.” However, to be perfect means it’s objectively supposed to be….. well, “perfect.” When in fact, our human view of perfection is actually pretty subjective and entirely based on each of our own individual point of view. Let’s take Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love.” It’s a great song! However, I would argue that Adele’s version is perfect. It’s so good! I bet someone out there would disagree with this statement. Therefore, proving my point that perfection is just our own opinion. What one person views as perfect, another views as imperfect.
Okay, so let’s be honest here. True perfection isn’t attainable by anyone. Not even Adele.
I’m sure I will get hate mail for saying that. But I prefer Adele with all her imperfections. I can relate to it.
So, let’s take perfection out of the equation.
Let’s not practice to be perfect. Let’s practice because the pursuit of becoming better at something is truly worth the effort and time. More importantly, let’s practice because……..
